About us
Ciao, we're Jori & Terry
Chances are you end up here for the same reason we once did: to escape the hectic pace and enjoy Italian outdoor living.
In Umbria life moves that bit slower. The food is wonderful, the summers seem to last forever, and people still really take time for one another. That calm, the space and the beautiful little villages and towns brought us from Cruquius (a hamlet near Haarlem) to Panicale. And we haven't regretted it for a moment.
Before long we thought: how lovely would it be to share what we have here? Surrounded by green rolling hills by day, an endless starry sky in the evening, and nothing else but the sounds of the countryside. So we turned part of our farmhouse into 3 fully equipped apartments: Colombo, Oleandro and Montali.
Our house isn't called Casa Terrazzella by accident, there's a story behind it. 'Terrazza' means terrace, and in the Umbrian hills you see that word everywhere: the terraced strips of land where olive trees and vines grow. Add the diminutive '-ella' and it becomes something like 'little terrace'. That name fitted our own garden on the hillside so well that we named the house after it. The hamlet at the end of the road carries the same name, which made it an even nicer fit.
We're renovating the house, inside and out, into three independent apartments that we rent out: Colombo, Oleandro and Montali. Each apartment has its own kitchen and bathroom, has air conditioning, and has a terrace and/or a balcony.
In furnishing it we kept the character of the more than hundred-year-old farmhouse: the authentic details, natural materials and warm colours of Umbria. At the same time the apartments have every comfort, so you can enjoy your holiday to the full.
If you stay with us, you get the real Umbrian experience. We're happy to point you to the best little restaurants, the tastiest ice cream, the nicest days out and the most beautiful spots.
